The Lavit Gallery will host Lúnasa, an exhibition of Irish craft and design as part of Cork Craft Month during August 2021. Taking its name from the ancient Irish festival that traditionally marked the beginning of the harvest season, this multidisciplinary exhibition will bring together a selected group of craftspeople working in both traditional and contemporary craft idioms. This exhibition follows a successful collaboration between the curator, Stephen O'Connell, and the gallery in 2019, presenting collectable Irish craft and design as part of the broader programme for Cork Craft Month.
New work from participants, made especially for the exhibition, will take inspiration from or make reference to folk or verna
