Doneraile Arts Festival

A four-day extravaganza of painting and craft workshops is being hosted in and around the historic town of Doneraile. The town backs onto the parkland of Doneraile Court built in the 1700s by the St Legers, now in the care of the OPW. The grounds are in the style of Capability Browne and offer over 400 acres of walks and the winding Blackwater.

This is DAFT's second art festival and this year we have included three craft workshops. The Felting workshop facilitated by  Mary Walshe will show you how to work felt and create your own picture. All materials will be supplied.
The second workshop is with Olive Murphy, a bespoke lampshade artist. During this workshop, Olive will guide you step by step to decorating a lampshade that you can take home.
Finally, antique restorer Gordon Mewis will lead a class in the making of the traditional Sugan Stool.
