Irish lacemakers took to the high seas to promote a gathering of lacemakers in Kinsale February 2013

For some time the Irish lacemakers have been saving for this holiday.
Organised by Veronica Stuart of Carrigaline booked with Sarah Brady of Barters. 'Thanks Sarah the shows, the food and the sun all fab'.
On Saturday 6th October lace ladies and friends from all over Ireland flew to Malaga in Spain to meet on board the ship the Adventurer of the seas.
7th October was spent cruising and lacemaking on deck. There was great interest from other ship guests from all over the world. What a session!
8th October - They met lacemakers in Maderia and had a tour of the island.
9th October - Tenerife, a day of rest and a well deserved swim in the sea.
10th October - The lace makers enjoyed a day touring and swimming in Gran Caneria. Lovely needlework!
11th October - Lanzarote, they spent a day with the island lacemakers. This is the day most of the ladies said was the icing on the cake. Great contacts and exchange of techniques were made and shopping too!!!!.
The little town were thrilled to welcome a bus load from Ireland.
12th October was spent cruising and lacemaking. Now the other guests were queuing to see the lacemakers at work. They had to put ladies on crowd control even Sandra one of the ship Co Ordinators had to help! A great time was had by all.
13th October - back to Malaga and back home. What a trip it flew.
Are they going again!! Yes of course, keep saving ladies!
