Ceramics Ireland will showcase the work of ceramic makers living here and Irish makers abroad, in this touring show. The exhibition evolved as a response to the Crafts Council of Irelands call to celebrate the Year of Craft 2011. transFORM will be launched at Farmleigh Gallery in May to coincide with the World Crafts Council meeting in June.
This exhibition is a celebration of the highest quality craftsmanship, which will feature functional, decorative and sculptural ceramics. The landmark exhibition is an important event in the history of Ceramics Ireland, representing ongoing efforts to promote of Irish ceramic practice amidst growing international recognition.
An independent panel selected the work for transFORM from an open submission call. It will travel to the Millennium Court Arts Centre where it will feature as part of Craft NI – August Craft month, then to Limerick School of Art and Design (LIT) Gallery, opening in November during Design week.
